Why is Mexican Candy So Popular?

Mexican Heritage

When we say candy, we mean sweets: chocolate, caramel and sugar everywhere! But when it comes to Mexican candy, things are different and not exactly sweet - and this is exactly what makes it so popular.

There are sweet candies in Mexico too, but traditionally, Mexican candy is spicy and salty. And there is also Tamarind, the most popular ingredient, which is a fruit extract, very versatile, with zesty flavor that works wonders with sweetness and spiciness alike.

Mexican candies and sodas might sound odd when described, indeed, but you will soon find out that they are delicious, and are readily available through a Colorado soda company located locally.

Here are some of the most popular products.

Pulparindo

Everybody loves Pulparindo! It is one of those candies that transports you to your childhood. Pulparindo come as tamarind candy sticks and are available in any candy store.

Saladito

Mexicans grow up eating these candies. Saladitos are dried up fruits (apricots or prunes), totally covered in... salt! They are delicious in every possible way - simple, with lime juice or adult drinks).

Morellanas

Another Tamarind based candy, Morellanas are fruit roll-up-type candies, with chilly and salt. They look like little sticks that can be eaten individually or put it in ice creams, clamato drinks, or adult beverages.
